Danskin
I used to wear Danskin products in high school. I think I even wore Danskin leg wear under long tops way back when that was the style and what do you know? That look is back in style again!
Nonetheless, I have been a fan of Danskin products for years and recently made a decent sized order from the Danskin website. I had no issues with the site and like everything I bought.
What the site sells
Danskin sells exercise and yoga wear for women and girls. They also sell some equipment and gear. The range of clothing items runs the gamut from yoga camis to dancing shoes and is for the serious and the casual exerciser and dancer.
Navigation and Ordering
The site is somewhat bland but navigation is very simple. You can browse by women's, plus, girls, equipment, and sale attic. Alternately, you can browse by type of product you are looking for. And there is a search box that you can input keywords.
All items are pictured and you can zoom in and out to see features clearly. Descriptions are excellent and everything you need to know is right there.
On the day I shopped, there was a special of 20% off an order of $100 or more which they made clear every time I clicked on a product (On the side, not flashing or anything.). Naturally, I had to order $100 worth of products for that discount!
Add items to your cart. You do not see shipping as you do, a pet peeve of mine, but shipping is free for orders over $75.00 so I didn't care since I knew I was getting more than that and would get free shipping. There is a shipping chart on the site which starts at $5.95 and goes to $9.95 until the free shipping kicks in so there is no guesswork when ordering.
When you are done shopping, you will go to the checkout which is a standard Yahoo one. They take Visa and MasterCard.
Input your name and address as well as email address then your credit card number. You must input the coupon code to get the discount they are advertising and it will immediately deduct the cost from your order.
Pay with your credit card and that's it. You will get an immediate email confirming the order with the details of what you purchased. They include a link to track the progress of your order in that email.
In my letter, I got a 15% off shipping code for a return visit which will be used.
You will get another email a couple of days later with shipping and tracking info.
Orders arrive quickly, within about five days via UPS Ground unless you choose to expedite shipping, which will get your order to you faster. Packing is fine and the items are as described. If you are unsatisfied, you can return any product, any time for a full refund.
My Experience
I went to the site to find leggings. I wanted tight ones because I have chicken legs and the clothing store ones I bought were baggy. I found some great low-rise Capri leggings with tons of Spandex in them which were exactly what I wanted. Prices were really good! I then ended up browsing the whole site wishing I were a dancer. I bought a cami top, a few pairs of leggings, some low-rise workout pants, and some exercise equipment.
I went to the checkout, input my coupon code and saved 20%. I wasn't charged tax or shipping and my order went right through. I received a confirmation email immediately with a 15% off code for when I revisit the site. Two days later, I received my shipping email.
Five days later, my package was at my door. Everything was as described and fit well. I will be going back because they have tons of colors of the leggings I like and, now that I wore than, I know I want more both for exercise and casual use.
I did leave a note at the end of my order telling customer service that I wasn't sure of my sizes in this type of gear and, if I needed a larger size, to substitute it. The sizes I chose were correct so I don't even know if they saw my note. At any rate, everything worked out.
There is an invoice with a return label with orders. You can return anything, anytime for a full refund (except for normal wear and tear). That's an awesome policy. I doubt I will have to but I held onto my packing slip in case.
I had no issues at all shopping on the site and will do so again.
Shipping and Returns
Shipping starts at $5.95 and goes to $9.95 until you get to $75.00. Then it is free in the US. There is tax only in PA.
There are two faster shipper choices for a fee.
As I mentioned, anything they sell is returnable for any reason, ANY TIME. They don't accept returns for normal wear but anything else, any time is fine. Just hold onto the invoice for the return address label.
Conclusion
The site's not flashy but it has some really great dance and workout wear and the prices are good. Danskin is a name I have known and worn for years and the quality is still high. I had no issues at all throughout my entire transaction. Everything is very clear and easy to understand and sizing charts are correct. The sale attic has great deals and you must look through the bargains if you shop there.
I am happy not have had to pay shipping or tax and to have gotten 20% off my order.
For me, this site is a 5 star one. If I should have any issues and need to return anything, I will update but, for now, I am very pleased with my experience and will be back!
