$80 For a Whistle From An Old Man at Wal-Mart Didn't Cut It For Me

Euphoria Pheromones

Most people have heard of pheromones but don't know what they are or have a preconceived notion of what they can do. Let me state for the record, I really don't believe that topical pheromones are sexual attractants. We all produce pheromones (as do animals in much higher concentrations) which play a part in why some are attracted to us. But I don't believe you can bottle those hormones and dab them on your skin and suddenly become magically more attractive to the opposite (or, if you are gay, the same) sex.

So why did I shop at Euphoria Pheromones Online Store? I was part of a study that allowed the subjects to choose their pheromones from a list of websites offering different types and to wear the product for 60 days. I then had to report back exactly what happened when I wore the lightly fragranced, clear liquid as I would perfume.

I had already had a disappointing experience with pheromones when I bought my husband some at Pherlure Pheromones — Scent of Seduction but I had nothing to lose. I was reimbursed for the cost of the bottle I bought and, if the stuff lived up to even half of its claims, I would have to beat guys off with a stick.

Before I go on with the review, let me say my stick is still intact and I never had to pick it up to even shoo away a random crazed male who was attracted to me for some reason known only to me and my little bottle of magic potion.

This is a review of the website and not the actual product but, since they only sell one thing, I will add some opinions about the one product they do sell without getting too detailed.

What Are Pheromones?

This is from a scientific website:

Pheromones are naturally occurring substances the fertile body excretes externally, conveying an airborne message to trigger a response from the opposite sex of the same species.

What the Site Sells

This site sells only male and female "attractants" in the form of small bottles of pheromone perfume or cologne.

Navigation

This is a tiny site that is tastefully done unlike many of the sites that sell pheromones. There is a very slightly suggestive photo on the home page but nothing at all offensive.

The navigation could not be simpler. Click on Male Attractant, Female Attractant, FAOs, Testimonials, Media Reports, or Order across the top.

The Media Reports are just random sentences about pheromones in general (I found one article attributed to CNN that the site takes the words totally out of context.) playing a role in sexual attractiveness. Testimonials are the typical no last name "This stuff changed my life" things that should be taken with a grain of salt.

Click on one of the two types of attractants and you will be able to read about what the perfume (for women) or cologne (for men) can do for you and your love life. There is also an explanation of what pheromones are and how you should use your new secret weapon.

If you decide to order, click on the Order link. You will see prices for one bottle of either male or female attractant or two for a discounted price. Chose what you want and your cart pops up. Shipping is crazy high. One one-ounce bottle costs $19.95 to ship via FedEx. The FAQs explain that there is a flat $19.95 shipping fee for all orders.

If you're still willing to go through with the transaction, fill in your personal information and give your credit card details.

Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Diner's Club are the payments accepted on this site.

Once that is done, you will get a confirmation number and a letter. I didn't get a letter of shipping with a Fed Ex tracking number but the product did come in about a week.

To their credit, there is no hard sell and no up sell tactics on the site. You order what you want, they charge you, and you leave.

My Experience

I chose this site because it was far more tasteful than most others and it didn't hone in on just men. It is a very gender friendly site.

The price for a one-ounce bottle of attractant (male or female) is $59.95 and two are $99.95. Add the nearly $20.00 shipping charge and this stuff was almost $80.00 for one ounce.

I had no problems navigating, ordering, or getting a confirmation number. I didn't get any sort of shipping email but I did get the product about a week later. I did not get any information or instructions with my order but the site pretty much explained how to use the product.

I did use their online contact form to ask if I could use regular perfume with the product but never got a response so I did not use perfume in case that skewed the results.

Based on just the ordering process, the website experience was average. But since they only sell one thing, I feel I must talk a little about the one product they offer.

The Product

The bottle was super simple and very small. The scent was light and not overbearing but not really pleasant either. I would not choose the scent to wear as a perfume. I strongly believe the words "perfume" and "cologne" are misused in this context. This is not a scent most people would choose at a fragrance counter based on scent alone. The scent is added to avert the weird smell that pheromones seem to have which, to me, is like body odor.

I was supposed to use the product for 60 days but even used sparingly, there was only enough for a month of use. That's $80.00 a month to hopefully attract people and, according to the site, "gain an edge in business, at school or at any social event."

After a month of wearing this attractant, I noticed no change in how people responded to me. I am friendly and fairly outgoing in public and usually don't have many social problems. I didn't change my usual approach and no one acted differently than they ever have. Sure, I could say that the old man who whistled at me in the parking lot at Wal-Mart and my son's friend who told my son his mom was "wicked hot" were the result of wearing the attractant. But I haven't worn the stuff in months and my son's friend says the same thing every time he sees me much to the dismay of my poor son.

I have concluded that, for me, these pheromones did nothing to attract the opposite sex or to give me an edge anywhere. I am not saying the site is a rip off or doesn't have pheromones in the bottle (I have no way of knowing what is inside those little jars) but I am saying that, as an average 41 year old woman wearing this attractant in public and at home daily for a month, I saw no discernable difference in the behavior of anyone around me, for the better or worse.

I completed my study and answered all the questions and was paid pretty well so I lost nothing in this transaction. However, I would have been very disappointed if I paid that much money for that little product that did nothing for me.

For Your Info: The Ingredients

If you order from this site, the product you will receive will contain:

Di-Propylene Glycol, Essential Oils, SD40-B Alcohol, Fragrance and pure reagent-grade Human Pheromones.

Guarantee

According to the site: If you try "Euphoria Pheromones" and do not dramaticaly notice an increase in your sex apeal with the opposite sex,, or for any reason you are not satisfied, we will be happy to refund you full purchase price. No questions asked!!! (Spelling and grammar errors are from the site, not me)

I didn't try to return my bottle so I can't comment on whether they stand by their guarantee. I tend to believe it won't THAT easy to return the product since I did email the site via their online contact form and got no response.

Contact Info

There isn't any! The only info they put on their site is an online form you can use to contact them about sales, shipping, or medical questions. They do not accept emails when they send confirmation letters (They come from an automated address) and there is no phone number to call anywhere on the site. A quick look up of the site says that it is maintained by a company in Canada and they have 22 other websites. A little bit more digging shows that the owners of all the sites are located in the country of Mauritius which is in Southern Africa.

Recommendation

I did not have major problems ordering on this site. My card was charged the correct amount and the product arrived in a week or so. However, I am very leery of not having a contact telephone number or email address and don't put a lot of stock in the 100% satisfaction guarantee since it is nearly impossible to contact them to return the product. I never received a reply to my question I posed to them via their online form.

Shipping is very expensive at $19.95 and my personal results were nil. This is not to say you will have the same results. Everyone has a different chemical make up and this product may work for some.

As far as the website experience, mine was uneventful. Still, due to the high shipping rate, the lack of viable contact info, the misleading media info, and the questionable guarantee — not to mention the lack of results — I can only give this site 2 stars. I don't feel I can recommend this site to others based on all I learned about it.

If you truly want to try a topical pheromone, I suggest you try Athena Institute's pheromones. I read two fairly positive third party reports on them and, if I ever were to try these again, I would go to the Athena site and bypass the others based on my research.
