Wunderbar! All Websites Should Be This Gute!

German Music Express

I never thought I would ever buy anything from a website called German Music Express but my son has been taking German in school for four years and he has taken a liking to German music. I suppose it is better than some other types of music teens listen to, but I had no idea where I could find a German language music CD. There were none locally so, I did a search and up came this site.

It was the first site I clicked on and I got lucky. Everything went fine.

What the Site Sells

I think the site started out selling only German music but has expanded to selling CDs and DVDs from Germany, Italy, England, France, and Japan. The majority of CDs and DVDs are in German though from what I can tell. Many CDs are popular American and British music translated to another language as well as hard to find music and videos from all over the world. If you can't find it on this site, it probably doesn't exist!

Navigation

The site is in English but you can opt to have it translated to several different languages as they sell worldwide.

The front page is simple and soothing with names of many popular musical artists and pictures of CD covers.

There are many, many ways to search for what you want via a drop down box. This makes navigation so much easier than clicking on page after page of stuff you don't want in the hopes that you can find what you do want.

They even have a compound search where you can hone the search down even further.

Links down the left side give you search tips, your cart, information, a feedback link, and other important informational links. Everything is very easy to understand and simple to get to.

There are many sound clips on the site so you can hear exactly what you are buying, a great plus in my opinion.

My son chose a CD he wanted and we clicked to place it in the cart.

Prices are shown in US dollars if you opt to stay on the American site. If you switch to other languages, the costs are in whatever that country's monetary units are.

You need to pick a user name and password to checkout which is no biggie but I am not quite sure why it is mandatory to do that.

Once you do that, you get the checkout page where you fill in your usual information and email address as well as you Visa, MasterCard, or Discover card. You can also send a check. There is an option to use the card you have on account as well.

I clicked the MasterCard option and filled in my number and expiry as well as address et al.

Shipping for all orders is $4.95! That was a pleasant surprise. The company is in the Netherlands so I expected a scary shipping cost. Cool.

Once the item is paid, a confirmation number is given and an email sent. You will get a letter from the site as well.

It takes seven to 12 days to ship to the US. I have waited much longer for items to come from my own state. Amazing.

The order will arrive securely packaged and you will be boogying to German or Italian music in no time.

My Experience

My son knew what he wanted so the search was easy. The price was, too. The CD was around $20.00. Checkout was a breeze and the $4.95 flat shipping rate was a pleasant surprise.

I got an email as soon as I placed the order and I got the CD in 10 days. It was exactly as described and I have NO complaints at all about this transaction.

My son loves the CD and, I suppose, it is helping him learn German through music.

Shipping and Returns

Shipping for orders to the US and most other countries is a flat $4.95. Shipping to Germany and the Netherlands is $1.95 per order.

There are no hidden charges. Some countries may have an added $1.95 charge for Air Mail but you will be notified of that.

Their return policy is as good as it gets. All CDs are guaranteed to play perfectly for four weeks from receipt. Any CD which does not play perfectly may be returned, with prior authorization, for a replacement copy of the same CD.

There is an onsite messaging system to contact them for an RMA.

Conclusion

This is a great site. There is a lot of variety, it is easy to find what you want, browsing is fun, and all the clips make it easier to choose what you want by hearing the sound of the songs. It's not often, I imagine, that people from the US go looking for German music but, if I ever wanted another foreign language CD or a hard to find British one, I would not hesitate to revisit this site.

It is better in just about every way than many sites right here in the US. Shipping, returns, variety, delivery, and quality are all 5 star.

In fact, this site is 5 star. For those with the need for foreign music, please look no further than German Music Express.
