I am a shoe collector. I have hundreds of pairs of shoes, boots, sandals, and athletics stashed all over the house. It really is insane to have as many shoes as I do but I blame it on having to wear ugly corrective shoes as a kid.
But whatever the reason, I love to check out different shoe sites to see funky and different footwear. I was surfing around looking, actually, for a pair of practical casual shoes when I found My Sexy Shoes. Now, I admit, even I wouldn't wear most of the shoes and boots they sell. However, I did end up finding a great looking purse and looking and marveling at the eight inch heeled boots that somebody out there must be buying and wearing.
Things went sour during the ordering process though and the snazzy red and black detailed purse I liked will never arrive on my doorstep because I backed out of the transaction. You will see why below.
What the Site Sells
Lots of novelty and fetish very high-heeled boots, sandals and shoes. There are a very few pairs of shoes and boots with three to four inch heels but the majority of shoes and boots have five inches to eight and a half inch heels. Stripper shoes? I don't even know if one could walk in shoes this high. They also sell an assortment of accessories such as purses and some lingerie but only a few items. The focus is on the footwear.
Navigation
The site is simple to navigate. There are a few amateurish looking glowing or blinking graphics but nothing too distracting. Categories run down the left side of the page there is also a search box. Clicking on a category takes you to a page with different choices. Hone down your choice and click on the one you want and you will be met with all the offerings in the subcategory.
A click on an item you like will take you to a new page where you can see it better and read a description. If you want an item, choose a size and a color if necessary and add to your cart.
The cart is a typical Yahoo Store one that frequent online shoppers will recognize.
Now comes the problem. You are not told your shipping charges until after you input your credit card details. I hate that. There is no reason that shipping cannot be calculated based on the information you have to give to get to the checkout screen (Name, address, phone number).
There is no way around it. If you want the order, you have to input your credit card details before you know your shipping costs.
That is a huge negative in my book and no site should have hidden shipping charges that way. There is also no returns policy on the site.
Visa, MasterCard, and Discover Card are accepted.
I decided to call their toll free number and order by phone and guess what? The number was not a working one. At that point, I backed out of my order. If their phone number didn't work and if they hit me with high shipping charges, what recourse would I have? And how could I be sure I would even get my order?
It was too risky so I backed out of making the order and moved along.
My Experience
As I said, I could not get shipping costs for the order before I paid and the toll free number provided was not working. I wasn't in the mood to get stung although I may not have been. But who knows? Without a working number and with no stated policies, I could have been charged any amount for shipping and not been able to cancel the order or maybe, not even get the order at all. I felt it was too risky to give these people my credit card details. If they want me to trust them, they should be trustworthy and non-working telephone number, no stated shipping and returns policies, and shipping charges that show up only after they have your credit card number don't exactly invoke a lot of trust.
I wrote to the site but have yet to receive a response.
Shipping and Returns
I have no idea what shipping rates are because you don't find out until after you input your credit card details. You have a choice of UPS Ground, UPS 3 Day Select, UPS Second Day Air, UPS Worldwide Expedited, and UPS Standard to Canada.
However, the site clearly says it only ships within the US so I don't know why they have a worldwide and Canadian option.
There is no returns policy whatsoever on the site. I checked every link and sublink. I have no idea what their policy is for returns. I suspect no one will return anything because no one will ever GET anything.

The phone number isn't working at the present time. I tried many times and got a recording that it was out of service.
My Recommendation
Forget the eight-inch heels and put on your running shoes and RUN away from this site.
There are some novel looking items and, if you are so inclined to want a pair of eight and a half inch thigh high boots, this is the place to get them. However, there are many flaws on this site.
You will not know shipping costs until after you input your credit card details. There is no reason for that. Once they have your address, they can calculate your shipping.
You can't call them because the toll free number isn't working.
They have options for Canadian and worldwide orders but only ship within the US.
Something feels very wrong here. I think this is less of a case of a fraud site and more of a case of a poorly run one. Whoever designs or maintains the site is doing a terrible job. There needs to be stated shipping and returns polices, a working phone number, and a way to see at least an approximate shipping charge before you give up your credit card details.
The prices of items are fairly reasonable, I suppose, but I refuse to take a chance on a site that I can't get a hold of if I need to and that hasn't answered my polite email requesting my shipping charge for the purse I wanted and asking why the toll free order and customer service number doesn't work.
Right now, based on all of the above, I give his site 1 star. It could be something as simple as a changed phone number not posted or a glitch in the shipping calculator that leaves shipping charges off until they have your credit card details. Nonetheless, I recommend you buy your stripper shoes elsewhere. This site may well taketh but not giveth anything in return.
