Anyone who ever read any of my online store reviews knows I hate paying shipping fees. I love websites that have free shipping or very low shipping rates so a website called No Shipping Fee sounded like my kind of place!

Now, I wish I would have just gone somewhere that charged shipping and got my order right!

What the Site Sells

No Shipping Fee sells CDRs, DVDs, labels, cases, sleeves, inserts, and disc duplication. Most items are sold in bulk and you can't just buy just a few of any item.

Navigation

The site is fairly straightforward. You can input text into the search box or browse categories. There is a list of categories down the left side of the site and several photos on the home page advertising their inventory.

Depending on how large a quantity that you want, prices per piece are reduced as quantities increase.

The pictures and descriptions are pretty average and sparse and you really have to know what you need and want before buying at this site. When you see what you want, choose a quantity and add to your cart.

I did not get a disc duplicated (Who needs a service like that anymore these days?) but you have to call to get a quote and must have a fairly large number of duplications made. If you want just a few, they send you to a sister site, Always Discounted.

Once you finish shopping, you go to the check out which is the standard yellow and white yahoo shopping cart one.

You will need to fill in your shipping address and phone number and then will go to another screen to fill in the rest of your info and supply a major credit card. Shipping is free for Ground UPS in the United States. They offer expedited shipping for a charge.

If you prefer, you can call your order in, rather than completing your order online.

Once completed, you will get a confirmation email. You are supposed to get a shipping email as well but I never did.

Items arrive in a week to 10 days depending on location. My order arrived in about nine days.

My Experience

I didn't know what I wanted. My son was the one who insisted we needed some DVD-RWs and other accessories. I just provided the cash as usual. Together we picked out what we wanted and added the items to the cart. We carefully checked over the things in the cart before checking out and printed out the order.

The order went through fine but I didn't get any notice that they were actually shipping the items.

However, they did arrive in about nine days. I was impressed because the box was heavy and I didn't have to pay any shipping! I didn't even stop to think that the prices were somewhat higher than other places that sell the same things and that the order may not be correct.

When my son came home from work, we opened the box. He went through it and I could tell something was not right. Finally, he tossed the thing he had in his and said, "Mom, these are DVD-R 4x not DVD-RW. You have to send these back!"

Um, OK. I took a quick look on the site and sure enough, the DVD-R 4x discs were just $68.75 for $200. I had paid $236.00 for 50 of the ones we (supposedly) needed! Huge difference!

I quickly called the customer service number and actually got a rep on the phone on my first try. He said I had ordered DVD-R 4x discs. I told him I didn't and I paid for the others as he could easily see. We went back and forth for a while until I started to get angry. Sensing I was about to have a classic consumer fit, the rep then said I could return the wrong items and they would send the right ones. But wait! I had to PAY to send the wrong discs back? And wait until they got there then get the ones I paid for?

Yes.

Hmmm. I didn't like that answer. I asked if they would issue me a return postage label considering it was their mistake.

No.

I asked if they would send my discs immediately and I would send the wrong ones back.

No.

I decided to simply return the wrong discs and get a full refund. This was way too much like work.

I paid to send the wrong discs back and held tight to my tracking number. I worried that I wouldn't get a full refund but eventually I did.

I won't go back there again! No shipping fees or not, I'll stick to some place that sends me what I order and doesn't punish me for their mistakes.

Shipping and Returns

Standard ground shipping is free. You can choose from three other faster methods of shipping for a fee.

You can returns items within 30 days of ordering. You must return the items in their original condition for a full refund. You will have to call for a RMA before returning anything. Any items received without an RMA will be charged a 20% restocking fee.

I had to pay for return shipping for the wrong items but I did get a full refund (minus the shipping I paid to send the discs back to California).

Conclusion

Ugh. Hassles! This site sells only a few things and should be able to tell one type of disc from another especially considering the huge price difference.

No, I wasn't charged shipping, but the prices aren't that great and the return shipping for their mistake was expensive.

I won't go back there. There are many sites that sell these types of items and I can get them cheaper elsewhere even with a shipping fee.

I am not at all happy with how my transaction went. You may have no trouble at all but once is enough for me.
