Ramy Cosmetics are Great but Their Website is Only Average at Best

I buy a lot of Ramy products, usually from other sources besides their official website. However, the RAMY Beauty Therapy Online Store has all the good stuff Ramy sells all in one place, so I figured I would make my order directly through the site.
This is a comprehensive site for Ramy cosmetics but offers nothing special over ordering the products from other sites.

Navigation and Ordering
This website is busy and not the greatest looking one I have seen. They do have several links to informational pages like tips and tricks to applying their products, recent media and press, and upcoming events, which are interesting.
Once you get past the cluttered front page, the products area looks a bit better.
You browse the products by category (Face, lips, eyes, etc.). There is no keyword search box but there are limited amounts of products in each category and all are listed on one page so scrolling is easy.
Descriptions are fairly scant. There are no ingredients lists and no sizes listed. Many items appear larger than they really are, especially the Face Gloss which is really tiny (Lip balm tin tiny.) but looks like a regular sized compact on the site.
To order, just input the quantity of the shade or shades of a particular item you want and add to your bag.
The shipping rates are not determined until checkout which is a pet peeve of mine. I like to have some idea of what my shipping costs will be before I spend time shopping on a site.
When you are ready to check out, you head to that page.
At last, you will see a drop down box with all the shipping methods offered and the costs. The cheapest shipping rate for my $36.00 order was $7.95, which I think is ridiculous considering how tiny the products were. Adding more to my cart didn't raise shipping much at all so you get a better shipping deal if you order more products at one time.
You need to fill out your mailing address, phone number, and email address and then fill out the same stuff for your shipping info. There is no option for telling the site that the two sets of information are the same so you have to retype the same stuff twice. That ticked me off.
You then input your Visa or MasterCard number and expiry and that completes your order.
The usual confirmation email will arrive and a shipping one with tracking will come when the order ships.
My order took about 10 days from the day I ordered with a weekend in between, which isn't unacceptable but a tad slower than many other websites.
Orders are packed nicely with a leaflet or two but no freebies or samples.
My Experience
There were a couple of items I wanted and couldn't find on one beauty website together so I just decided to buy them both on the official Ramy site.
That was easy to do but the shipping was too high, in my opinion, for the weight and amount of my order.
I was ticked at that and then I had to type all my info twice rather than have the option of clicking a box saying my billing and shipping addresses were the same. It was only a small hassle but one I didn't need.
After that, it was simple. The order was placed, my emails arrived, and my products arrived 10 days after I made my order.
Everything was fine as far as the products ordered and the packing. There were no samples which most official websites include, but the items I bought were as described and I was happy with them.
Still, I doubt I will order from the site again unless there is something I absolutely HAVE to have and only they carry the item. I can buy Ramy products on several beauty websites that offer free or lower shipping plus offer cash back through Ebates or fatwallet.
I wasn't treated better on the RAMY Beauty Therapy Online Store than on other beauty sites but I wasn't treated poorly.
I just wasn't fond of the mystery shipping cost and, when I found out what it was, the cost itself.
Otherwise, my experience was fine. Unspectacular but fine.
Shipping and Returns
Shipping is determined by amount of your purchase as far as I can tell. There are several methods you can choose from and several speeds of shipping available. They also ship to Canada and there are a few options for Canadian customers as well.
Returns are accepted but there is a $5.00 charge for all returns and, of course, shipping costs are not refunded.
Conclusion
My suggestion to you is to check out the RAMY Beauty Therapy Online Store, do a little research, and then buy the products elsewhere. There is no price break for shopping on the site, no shipping break, no samples or other promotions, and no reason NOT to look elsewhere for your Ramy needs. However, if you really want a product and can't find it anywhere else, you won't be ripped off or have trouble with your order through the Ramy site.
It just makes economical sense to shop where you get the best shipping prices and any possible promotions and cash back savings you can. Ramy products are not cheap so saving a little means a lot.
I give this site 3 stars. It's fine for what it is but nothing more than that. I recommend it but also recommend that you shop around before ordering from the site to see if you can find the Ramy products you want for less or no shipping or to combine with other products to lessen the shipping costs.
Make no mistake though, wherever you do buy Ramy products, they're generally very good.
