The Yoga Superstore carries more than just yoga supplies. This site advertises a myriad of products and items for the yoga and Pilates enthusiast as well as equipment and clothing. The prices are average and the shipping is high.
What the Site Sells
This site sells yoga products, obviously, but also Pilates products, meditation items, clothing, and back care accessories. They also sell items for pregnant woman and kids related to yoga and exercise.
Navigation
The home page is a bit cluttered but the categories are linked to the left side and easy to access. You can also click on the tabs on the top: Yoga, Pilates, Clothing, Meditation, and Back and Body.
Lots of links make up the middle of the page giving you many ways to find what you are looking for or to browse certain categories.
The site touts several categories of items but, when you click on the category, you get more links, and eventually, when you get to where you are going, there are often no products for sale. I wasted a lot of time clicking link after link narrowing down the category only to find there was nothing in that category to begin with. I didn't like that at all.
At the time I shopped there, I was looking for meditation DVD and I did eventually find one but it wasn't easy.
Once you DO find what you want, you add it to your cart. This is a "Yahoo Store" and thus, shipping and handling charges don't show up until checkout, a pet peeve of mine. I want to know before I get to the checkout what I will be paying for shipping when I shop on websites. I am not one for "mystery shipping costs" added at the end.
There is a page that tells you how they ship and that they don't inflate shipping costs and then they go on to say they do add extra charges for "boxing" the items.
Once you are done shopping, you go to the usual fill in form. You can choose UPS Ground or three day shipping but still don't know how each much is, making that choice a tough one since you can't compare the two. I chose ground shipping and, for my $18.98 DVD, the shipping was $7.98.
That was unacceptable to me when this particular DVD was available at other retailers who charged less shipping and, sometimes no shipping, for the same product. Suffice to say, I backed out of the transaction and did not complete it.
However, I learned that shipping often takes up to two weeks (which is unacceptable for the cost) and that customer service is tough to get a hold of from friends who have completed orders on this site.
Shipping and Returns
As I stated, this is one of those mystery shipping sites that only adds the cost of shipping when you are ready to check out. I find the shipping costs to be too high to justify shopping on this site since most of their items are available on other sites that have lower shipping and, often, lower overall costs for the same items.
You can choose UPS Ground or Three Day UPS shipping.
They have a 30-day return policy "for almost all products they carry". They don't specify which are exempt from being returned. You can return an item at your cost and get a refund less shipping charges as long as the item has not been opened, worn, or used. Some items are subject to a 15% restocking fee but they don't specify which. Don't you love this type of vague info? You must contact customer service for a Return Authorization number before sending an item back. Damaged items will be issued a return shipping label. Lastly, they do not exchange, only refund. So if you order yoga pants in size Small and they are too small, you can't just exchange them for a Medium. You must get a refund (minus shipping charges) and reorder (plus shipping charges). Hogwash. Too much trouble for items that are just average.
They accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.

Conclusion
Annoying to navigate, items often not available, shipping charges a mystery (and too high), return policy is sketchy, and items are priced the same or higher than they are on other websites with clearer shipping and returns info.
I didn't shop here. I left and got my item elsewhere. This site may have something you are looking for, and if you're willing to pay the high shipping costs and wait the wait for the product, you may be satisfied.
For someone who shops all the time online, this site offers me nothing over other similar sites and gives me no reason at all to shop there.
I give this site 2 stars. I won't say to avoid it as I did not have a terrible experience there. I didn't let it get that far. I just don't think it is on par with similar sites and you would do well to find your item at a site that has clearer policies and charges less to ship.
